Colombia and Ivory Coast were both able to get their 2014 World Cup campaigns underway with wins last weekend and they will have the opportunity to book a place in the second round when they meet at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia at 2am tomorrow morning.

Colombia opened their 2014 World Cup campaign with a professional 3-0 victory over Greece last Sunday morning, while the Ivory Coast came from 1-0 down to record a 2-1 win over a somewhat disappointing Japanese side.

The Ivory Coast has performed well in the past two World Cup’s without being able to make it through to the second round of the tournament, but are now in a strong position to get out of their pool for the first time in their World Cup history.

The Elephants side is packed full of talent right across the pitch and after a slow start against Japan, they were able to take control of the fixture and they deserved their two late goals and the three points.

Leading goalscorer Didier Drogba is expected to once again start on the bench, which shows the quality of the side, and Yaya Toure will once again play in an attacking role against performing strongly against Japan.

The Ivory Coast are available at 2014 World Cup odds of $3.50 to defeat Colombia, with Ladbrokes Australia, and based on their impressive first-up effort that is excellent value.

Colombia took all their chances against Greece and looked fairly impressive when they were given the opportunity to press forward, but the performance as not as dominant as the score line would suggest.

Greece were able to dominate possession for the majority of the game and if Ivory Coast are given that much football in an attacking area they will be able to create more chances than the fairly pedestrian Greek attack.

Teofilo Gutierrez performed well for Colombia against Greece and will need to continue to play at a high level to cover in the absence of superstar striker Radamel Falcao.

Colombia are clear favourites to take the three points against Ivory Coast tomorrow morning and are available at a quote of $2.10 with Ladbrokes.com.au, but that does not necessarily represent value.

Other betting markets worth a look include the $2.05 on offer for there to be over two and a half goals scored in the game, while the $1.84 on offer for both teams to score represents value as the Ivory Coast have scored at least eight goals in eight of their ten World Cup games.
